The President’s Choice Christmas elves sent me a giant box of holiday goodies featuring numerous products from the Holiday 2011 PC Insider’s Report. This year, PC wants to give all moms a special gift -The Gift of Time!!
Perhaps when my children are older, I’ll be up to creating fabulous meals from scratch for a houseful of guests (I do enjoy doing this but with 3 kids under the age of six, my sanity needs to take priority for now). Once again, I was impressed with the quality of products that President’s Choice has to offer this holiday season to take the stress out of entertaining (and to give me time to delight in the holidays with my family).
I gathered some good friends (who will be joining the My Real Review team in 2012 to form a Panel of Expert Moms) and we put a wide variety of President’s Choice treats to the test.
Below are some of the products that were a hit with our group, followed by a list of foods from PC that you will find at my personal family celebration this year:
Our Top 3 Picks for Sweet Treats from President’s Choice:
1. PC Milk Chocolate Covered Butter Toffee with Roasted Almonds
(we unanimously agreed that this was the most delicious treat that we tried).
2. Candy Cane “Eat The Middle First” Cookies ($2.49)
3. PC Mini Biscotti Assortment ($9.99)
We enjoyed these goodies with Decaffeinated Dulce De Leche Ground Coffee ($4.99) and Chocolatey Mint Black Tea ($2.49) -also available are Candy Cane Flavoured Ground Coffee ($4.99) and Winter Blend Dark Roast ($8.99). To add a bit more excitement to an evening gathering try hosting a Coffee Klatsch: a German-inspired coffee tasting party where coffees with different flavour profiles are enjoyed with desserts (a few helpful hints from the President’s Choice coffee shop and some PC pre-made holiday desserts are all you need).
Which PC products will be on my table this Christmas?
I’m hosting Christmas Eve at my house this year and our family tradition is to feast upon a buffet of appetizer-style foods (Christmas Day is our big turkey dinner). For cheese, I’ll be serving PC Goat Brie ($8.99) and PC Cranberry Goat’s Milk Cheese ($6.99) since we have a couple family members avoid cow’s milk dairy foods but can tolerate goat’s milk products. The cheeses, which are both delicious in my opinion, will be paired with President’s Choice Biscuits for Cheese ($4.99).
Corey’s background is European and, growing up, he always ate sausages and potato salad on Christmas Eve. Fire-Roasted Sweet Italian Fully Cooked Mini Pork Sausages ($6.99) served with Dijon mustard are his choice this year! Additionally, we’ll be having PC Blue Menu -Lean Italian Beef Meatballs ($6.99) with PC Meatball Cooking Sauce ($2.99) and PC Blue Menu Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks ($6.99). All of these products are easy to make and sure-fire kid pleasers too.
For dessert, I’ll be picking up the Top 3 Sweet Treats (listed above) along with PC Candy Cane Chocolate Fudge Crackle Ice Cream ($4.99). Yum!!
