Friend and fellow Canadian blogger, Listen to Lena, recently published a post where she overheard the Tombliboos from In The Night Garden utter something that sounded very naughty (while we cannot be 100% sure that those Tombliboos said what we think they did, it sure sounded close). Warning, her post is not exactly G-rated (but that’s mostly the fault of the Tombliboos). This show was off-limits before, due to the fact that it grates my nerves to no end, and has been officially moved to my blacklist (admittedly, I’m quite glad to take advantage of an excuse never to let it air around here).
Although I try not to let my kids watch too much TV, allowing some children’s television is necessary for a WAHM mom like me. Thus, quality control is an important issue! My kids watch mostly DVDs and Netflix (no commercials that encourage them to beg for toys, certain foods, etc.). As I mentioned in my review of Wibbly Pig -Adventures With Wibbly, posted earlier today, Wibbly Pig is one of the shows I trust to let my kids watch. It sparks their imagination and encourages movement and interaction.
Along with Wibbly Pig, shows I feel comfortable allowing my children to regularly watch include: Turbo Dogs, Busytown, Franklin, Veggie Tales, and numerous educational shows. (I also do not find any of the aforementioned shows painfully annoying if I end up watching TV with my kiddos.)

I trust any of the cartoons on Treehouse.
Max and Ruby, Toopy and Binoo, Cat in the Hat
Although I don’t always like how cheeky or mean-spirited some of the engines can be, I allow my son to watch Thomas. There is always a lesson to be learned as to why it is not good to be mean, cheeky, lazy, etc… And he loves it when an episode comes on and we have the corresponding book. He thinks it “magic” that his book is on TV!
Max & Ruby
Paws and tales comes on TV once a week here, Adlai loves it when they the same stories we have on tape
hmmm, my daughter LOVES Jakers (another pig LOL – she loves pigs) she also loves Pippa Pig (LOL) yes there is a theme with her – oh but she loves Charlie and Lola, and there is no pig referance there
